Model Test Verification of Synchronous Technology Combining Shield Tunneling with Segment Assembling Based on Principle of Uniform Loading on a Single Segment

Abstract: A case study on the 3rd bid section of the Shanghai airport railway link line is presented to effectively shorten the construction period by deploying only one shield in a longdistance shield tunnel. On the premise of keeping the operation habits of shield drivers unchanged, a synchronous technology combining shield tunneling and segment assembling with closedloop active control on the cylinder pressures of the shield propulsion system is developed, which can maintain the stability of the total thrust force vector. Then, a redistribution calculation method of the missing jacking force is proposed based on the principle of uniform loading on a single segment. Finally, a largescale test platform with a similarity ratio of 1/2 is established to verify the whole set of the synchronous technology. The test results show the following: first, the error of the total thrust force is controlled within ±4%. Second, the horizontal and vertical deviations of shield posture are controlled within ±12 mm. Third, the driving speed of the shield ranges from -6 to +6 mm/min of the set value. Finally, the compressive safety factor of the segment structure reaches 213.
