Optimization of Calculation Method of Mucking Volume for Slurry Shield Based on Big Data

Abstract: To improve the accuracy of measuring and calculating the mucking volume for the slurry shield, the average density of the strata in a single excavation ring is incorporated. The correlation between the measured mucking volume and the density difference of the inlet and outlet slurry is established by taking a superlargediameter shield tunnel as an example. Moreover, the function variable WT〗k〖WT5《TNR》〗 is fitted and a new calculation method for the mucking volume based on the density of excavation strata is proposed. The research results show that the calculation method is stable and has low fluctuations when using the density of excavated strata as one of the calculation variables. It is found that the mucking volume is positively correlated with the density difference of the inlet and outlet slurry. Moreover, it is observed that the ring number with a relative error of mucking volume of a single ring less than 30% accounts for 88% of the total rings. This indicates a significant improvement in the calculation accuracy and stability of the recommended calculation method.
