Research and Application of Crucial Technologies for Intelligent DoubleComponent Grouting Pumps

Abstract: Conventional doublecomponent grouting pumps have several disadvantages such as low precision of grouting ratio control, long required time to reach the specified ratio, poor stability of grouting flow, and uncontrollable grouting pressure. Therefore, an intelligent doublecomponent grouting pump with two sets of hydraulic systems with independent controls is designed, which can be used to realize an arbitrary injection ratio of doublecomponent grouting. A double gear pump is used to ensure high efficiency and stability of the hydraulic systems and improve the stability of doublecomponent grouting, thereby achieving high precision of the doublecomponent grout injection ratio and a proportional error within 10%.  Simultaneously, the required time to reach the specified ratio is shortened(within 25 s) using a programmable logic controller. A stepped grouting program is set to control the grouting pressure and ensure grouting quality. The grouting test results demonstrate that the proposed pump can be used to realize fine control of doublecomponent grouting and automatic grouting control. The relevant results of the pump application in several projects show that doublecomponent grouting quality is improved and the consumption of grouting material is reduced using the intelligent doublecomponent grouting pump.
