Some Issues on Thirdparty Measurement: Case Study on Urban Rail Transit Works

Abstract: In existing measurement standards, there are no stipulations dedicated for the working details and limits of the thirdparty measurement. In addition to complying with the requirements of relevant standards, the thirdparty measurement has its own special stipulations, due to the characteristics of the mode of its own. The application of the measurement results of the ground control network, the densification of the ground control network, the limit of the thirdparty measurement and the treatment of the limit exceeding are discussed, with the management mode of the thirdparty measurement of the rail transit works in Nanjing as an example. Conclusions drawn are as follows: 1) These stipulations make up the shortcoming of the existing standards and solve many problems in the implementation of the thirdparty measurement of urban rail transit works; 2) These stipulations can meet the requirements of the quality and management of the thirdparty measurement of urban rail transit works; 3) These stipulations are accepted by the Owner, the Contractor and the thirdparty measurement companies.
