Abstract: The Optics Valley Plaza complex in Wuhan is located in urban traffic concentrated area with numerous surrounding buildings, whose construction site is insufficient. Accordingly, the phased and sectioned construction method is proposed for superlarge and deep specialshaped foundation pit. Through a series of application including innovative support system, building information modeling visualization, temporary road underpinning, and millisecond delay detonation technology, a safe and highquality construction of a superlarge and deep specialshaped foundation pit in urban center has been built, and the normal running of traffic around the foundation pit has been guaranteed.
