The Study of the Evacuation Propram on Tunnel and Underground Stations:Taipei MRT System

Abstract:

The trend of Taiwan transportation system is turning to rail transportation. Most of the urban rail transportation (MRT) were built as underground in the downtown area. Furthermore some natrual disasters like earthquake, flood and fire and accidents like derailment, explosion and other manmade interference... etc., are likely to occur in the system at any time. Passengers can be safely evacuated utilizing an appropriate evacuation program of the tunnel and underground stations. The taipei MRT system (TRTS) has been in operation for over 15 years and have a relatively mature program. This paper will analysis and explain the evacuation program for the tunnel and underground stations of the TRTS.
