Vibrations and Noises Caused by Bored Tunnel Passing the
Bottom of Structures

Abstract:

The main purpose for constructing Taipei MRT is to reduce the impact of traffic flow from cars. Therefore, most MRT lines are chosen at the sections with a lot of buildings, busy traffic and crowd people. Besides the restriction of the road alignment, the bored tunnel must be designed to cross the bottom of buildings. For this reason, the design of protection and construction for crossing buildings and the preventions of vibrations and noises caused by trains passing the bottom of structures are main topic in MRT constructions.
  This article is used Apex building crossed by the bored tunnel of Luchou line of Taipei MRT as an example. By the efforts of building protection and prevention of noise and vibration in the design phase, perfect management in construction phase and survey system for the ground face and existing buildings, the construction group finally can control the stratum distortion and succeed the bored tunnel project for passing through the bottom of buildings. Hence, all inhabitants are appreciated for DORTS efforts and decide to give a medal to show their thanks.
