Abstract:

Sleevedrilling pilepulling method is adopted in the construction of Line 2 of Nanjing Metro so as to ensure the safe boring of the shield machines when abandoned piles of surface structures are encountered. The mechanisms of pile pulling construction and the evaluation of different pile pulling methods are presented in the paper. The construction procedures, equipment selection and matching, construction results and problems of sleevedrilling pilepulling method are expatiated. The sleevedrilling pilepulling method focused in the paper is simple in procedures, easy in operation, efficient in construction, good in construction results and costsaving (especially for the case of pulling piles close to utility lines). The method can be widely applied in pulling of smalldiameter (diameter being less than φ1000mm) piles and short (length being less than 27m) piles.
