Influence of Coverspan ratios and Heightspan ratios of Metro Tunnels on Ground Surface Settlement

Abstract

Abstract:

In order to analyze the influence of the shapes and covers of tunnels on the ground surface settlement, FLAC 3D is used to study the influence of the coverspan ratios and heightspan ratios of Metro tunnels on the ground surface settlement and the rule of the influence of different coverspan ratios and heightspan ratios of Metro tunnels on the ground surface settlement is obtained. It is proposed that the optimum coverspan ratios and heightspan ratios should be more than 1.0. This study results can be served as reference for the design of urban Metro tunnels with shallow covers.
