Abstract:

In order to obtain the land needed and to make full use of the land, Taipei Metropolitan Rapid Transit System is making efforts on land development. It provides land owners with more options besides being expropriates. Furthermore, the land development reduces the government's financial burden, and the profit is much increased. The planning concept of Transit Oriented Development (TOD) is also introduced into land development. To increase the attraction of land use, the intensity of land development is also strengthened. The facilities for parking and ride are well designed, the transportation elements are jointed together, and public elements are included in a complete development. In order to develop the rapid transit system smoothly, fairly, efficiently and to provide a reference to other similar development project, this article is to review and examine the outcome of operation of land development.
