Study on and Application of Uplift Grouting in Construction of Tunnels
Crossing Underneath Existing Buildings

Abstract:

In order to ensure the proper execution of the tracing compensation grouting, grouting experiments are executed for No. 104 and No. 105 buildings so as to determine the grouting scheme, grouting technique, grouting materials and grouting parameters. Then tracing compensation grouting is executed for No. 34 building on basis of the experiment results. Grouting boreholes for groutstopping curtains, building foundation preconsolidations and dynamic tracing compensations are arranged at different positions. Regarding uplift grouting executed from the ground surface, 3 steps, i.e., grouting consolidation of the foundations before tunnel construction, dynamic tracing compensation grouting during tunnel construction and uplift grouting after tunnel construction, are executed. 23 settlement monitoring points are installed to obtain the realtime settlement and to provide guidance to the construction. The monitoring results show that the grouting can effectively restrict the settlement of the building, the structure of the building is safe and under control during tunneling underneath the building, the development of the settlement of the building is gentle and stable and the accumulated settlement and differential settlement of the building are within the control standards.
