Abstract:

The construction and control technology of metro earth pressure balanced(EPB) shield continuously cutting reinforced concrete pile foundations and crossing riverway and railway in silt layer is studied by taking Red Line shield tunnel of Tel Aviv Metro in Israel for example. A series of technologies, i.e. deep jet pile reinforcement technology, automatic monitoring system for buildings, shield cutting reinforced concrete pile foundation test and shield tunneling construction settlement control technology, are adopted, and the safe riverway, railway, pile foundation crossing of the 2 shields has been successfully realized. The settlement, test data of shield cutting pile foundations, closely crossing underneath riverway and railway are analyzed according to monitoring data. Some conclusions are drawn as follows: (1) Effective technical measures for settlement control of shield tunneling through riverway and railway in operation are put forward. (2) A set of construction methods for EPB shield crossing underneath dangerous structures such as riverway and railway is formed to broaden the application scope of EPB shield. (3) The relationship between different tool configurations of shield and effective cutting of reinforced concrete pile foundation is verified. The results can provide technical support and experience for similar projects in the future.

Key words: earth pressure balanced(EPB) shield, crossing underneath riverway, crossing underneath railway in operation, settlement control, jet grouting, automatic monitoring, shallow buried silt layer
