Installing Replacement Bracing or Cancelling Replacement Bracing: Case Study on Deep Foundation Pit of Xiwang Station of Line 1 of Shijiazhuang Metro

The foundation pit of Xiwang station of Line 1 of Shijiazhuang Metro is located in collapsible loess strata. In the paper, theoretical analysis is made on the foundation pit on basis of the actual geological and hydrogeological conditions and it is proposed that the originallydesigned replacement bracing could be cancelled, while full scaffold should be installed to support the structure. The proposal has been applied in the construction of the Metro station and good effects have been achieved.
