Abstract:

 It is very difficult to replace the cutting tools during shield tunneling in cobble and sand ground. In the paper, the mechanism of ground collapse occurring during the replacement of the cutting tools during shield tunneling in cobble and sand ground is studied and the scheme of AB grout injection is recommended for the ground consolidation in the cutting tool replacement. The scheme has been applied in the shield tunneling works, which shows that the scheme is suitable for the ground consolidation during shield tunneling in cobble and sand ground for the purpose of cutting tool replacement.
