Abstract:

Boreholes are always drilled on segments of shieldbored Metro tunnels so as to facilitate the installation of relevant mechanical and electrical equipment. In this way, the segments may be damaged. In the paper, the design of the embedded channels of the segments of the shieldbored tunnels on Line 9 of Shenzhen Metro is studied and discussed. The loading analysis and tests made demonstrate that the proposal to embed channels in segments is feasible and practical. The proposal can be further applied in other similar works and good effects in terms of easyconstruction, easymaintaining, energy saving and environmental protection can be achieved.
