Abstract:

An operating tunnel on Ji’ningBaotou railway in Inner Mongolia has water leakage defect. In the paper, a brief introduction is made to the tunnel, the water leakage defect and the freezing defect of the tunnel are expounded in terms of defect classification, defect causes, defect treatment methods and defect treatment effect. Comprehensive defect treatment measures, including grouting and heating and thermal insulation measures, are taken for the tunnel. The engineering practice shows that the treatment technologies adopted have achieved good construction progress, good economy and good effect in the treatment of the water leakage in plateau and extremely cold region.
