Abstract:
The ramming of the roof pipes has such adverse effect on the surrounding environment as noise, vibration and settlement of ground and existing structures, and these adverse effect cannot be ignored. A Metro station under construction crosses underneath an existing Metro station and roof pipes are rammed to ensure the safety of the construction and the safety of the existing Metro station. In the paper, the influence of the roof pipe ramming on the surrounding environment is monitored and analyzed. Conclusions drawn are as follows: 1) The roof pipes should be installed alternatively, with the central ones being installed before the side ones and the ones of the lower row being installed before the ones of the upper row, and the grouting parameters should be well controlled, so as to bring the influence of the roof pipe ramming on the settlement of the ground, the existing Metro station and the existing tracks under effective control; 2) The roof pipe ramming and the grouting have close relationship with the settlement of the existing structure and the existing tracks; 3) During the roof pipe ramming, slight settlement occurs to the ground, however, overall heaving occurs to the existing structure.
Key words: pipe roof, roof pipe ramming method, existing structure, track, settlement
