Abstract:

The waterproofing ability of 0.21 MPa of prefabricated utility tunnel of Phase Ⅴ of Shulong Street in Chengdu should be guaranteed under the conditions of the rubber seal opening of 10 mm, dislocation of 12 mm and low closed compressive force. Hence, 2 forms of rubber seal, i.e. circular holes and quasitriangle holes, are numerically simulated by establishing triple Ogden constitutive model of rubber; the assembly forces of the two forms of rubber seal are compared, and the rubber seal with small assembly force is selected to conduct waterproof test and closed pressure test. The test results show that: (1) The rubber seal with circular holes can meet the waterproofing requirement of the project; and the closed pressure of rubber seal is 28.55 kN/m. (2) When joint opening/dislocation of precast segment is small, the waterproofing pressure decreases rapidly with the increase of dislocation/joint opening; and the joint opening has a greater influence on waterproofing pressure of rubber seal than dislocation. (3) The smaller the joint opening, the larger the assembly forces.
