Key Techniques for Thermal Tunnel Construction with Largediameter and Huge Pipe Thrust

Abstract: In this study, the major difficulties and technical problems associated with the design of the tunnel scheme are classified via theoretical calculation and multidisciplinary comprehensive research as well as demonstration to ensure the safe and rapid construction of thermal tunnel projects and the safe operation and maintenance of the thermal pipelines. The following conclusions are obtained from this study. (1) Safe operating conditions can be ensured for maintenance personnel during pipeline operation by ensuring both natural and mechanical ventilation. (2) The addition of an integrated bed and rail transit system in the tunnel structure can ensure daily maintenance and pipeline replacement when needed. (3) The monitoring system of the building automation system (BAS) associated with the tunnel that performs various activities, including ventilation equipment monitoring, water supply and drainage equipment monitoring, and temperature and humidity monitoring, can ensure the safe operation and daily maintenance of the pipelines. (4) Fixedsupport frames with largethrust  are cast in place and others are embedded to ensure safe operation in the tunnel during the construction period.
