Abstract:

The cutandcover section of Shanghai Bund Passage Project is close to scenic buildings, therefore the deformation of the long and deep foundation pit of the cutandcover section is closely related to the normal service and safety of these buildings. Diaphragm walls are installed as the retaining structure of the foundation pit and sealing walls and reinforcement walls are installed to divide the long foundation pit into short ones; the insertion ratio of the diaphragm walls is properly increased; triaxial mixing piles are installed to preconsolidate the soil mass on both sides of the trench walls and dewatering and consolidation are executed in the foundation pit. For the sake of these countermeasures, the deformation of the foundation pit is effectively controlled and the ground surface settlement and the deformation of the surrounding buildings are minimized. Protection standards for the scenic buildings during the foundation pit construction are established on basis of monitoring and assessment of these buildings. Informationaided construction is executed and the monitoring data obtained in the full construction course are analyzed so as to provide scientific basis for the establishment and execution of the protection measures for the scenic buildings adjacent to the foundation pit.
