Abstract:

Reinforcement plate, short grouting tube and sealing plug are needed so as to ensure the rigidity of the steel tube around the grouting hole of concrete-filled steel tube supports (CFSTS). The characteristics of the distribution of stresses on the steel tube under elastic loading conditions are analyzed by means of ABAQUS. The compressive stress concentration coefficient on both sides of the grouting hole is the largest, reaching 8.45. The compressive stress concentration degree around the grouting hole decreases dramatically when reinforcement measures are taken. Different reinforcement measures are simulated and the following optimized reinforcement measures are proposed: the dimension of the reinforcement plate should be 500×300×10mm, that of the short grouting duct should be φ133×8mm and that of the sealing plug should be φ116×40mm. With the optimized reinforcement measures, the stress concentration degree and the steel consumption are effectively reduced.
