Abstract:

The joint structure of immersed tunnel is very complex; it is the weakness of immersed tunnel. The uneven settlement of the prefabricated segment would lead to the open and dislocation of segment joint, and would further affect the GINA water seal strip. The reducing and loose of the waterproofing capability of segment joint would lead to safety risk of tunnel running. The GINA water seal strip used in immersed tunnel is modeled by finite element method; and then the deformation mechanism of the GINA water seal strip under different construction conditions is studied. Some conclusions are drawn as follows: 1) The compression amount of GINA water seal strip should not be less than 90 mm and the opening amount of the segment joint structure should be less than 35 mm under operating condition. 2) The sealing function of the GINA water seal strip will not be affected under the conditions of the tangential dislocation of the joint structure less than 20 mm in horizontal direction and 35 mm in vertical direction. 3) The difference deformations of GINA water seal strip shoulders affect its sealing function little.
