Abstract:

The largediameter underwater shield tunnel is characterized by large diameter, high water pressure and complex geological conditions. Hence, the requirement for waterproof property of the elastic sealing gasket used in segmental joints is extremely high. At present, most of the special test researches are based on a specific project in China and abroad, and there is no refining of design methods. The representative waterproof structures of segmental joints of the typical largediameter underwater shield tunnels in China are studied; and the design method for the joint elastic gasket is obtained, which consists of four parts, i.e. the extraction of engineering parameters, the preanalysis of finite element before experiment, the experimental research and the finite element analysis after experiment. The method was successfully applied to the design of elastic gasket of tunnel joint of Yangtze Rivercrossing Tunnel on Weisan Road in Nanjing; and the applicable results verify its scientificity and feasibility. The results can provide reference for waterproof design of similar shield tunnel in China in the future.
