Study of Compression Performance and Crosssection Design  of Rubber Gasket for Prefabricated Utility Tunnel

Abstract:

In order to learn the influence of crosssection form of rubber gasket for prefabricated utility tunnel on the compression performance of the rubber gasket, the finite element numerical simulation software MSC.Marc is used, and the experimental results are compared with the simulated ones. And then, the influence of different grooving and opening forms of rubber gasket on the compression performance is discussed by MSC.Marc. The results show that: (1) The contact stress and compression force decrease with grooving area and opening area increase when the compression degree of the rubber gasket is 50%. (2) The contact stress and compression force are affected little by grooving number, but much by grooving shapes when the grooving areas are the same. (3) The contact stress and compression force are affect by opening number and opening arrangement mode when the opening areas are the some.
