Abstract: The construction of the SichuanTibet railway faces numerous challenges such as significant terrain elevation differences, complex geological characteristics, and a harsh climatic environment, among which the high altitude has particularly significant effects on the Sichuan-Tibet railway′s construction. The influence factor of high altitude on construction equipment by drillandblast method for Ya′anLinzhi section is analyzed from the aspects of power system, electrical control system, fluid control system, and air compressor performance to realize mechanized construction of SichuanTibet railway tunnels. Some recommendations for equipment selection of key construction processes of drillandblast construction operations in cold and highaltitude environments, such as advance support, excavation, primary support, and secondary lining, are made. The equipment includes advance drill and support equipment, rockbreaking jumbos, arch frame installation equipment, shotcrete equipment, crusher + belt conveyor mucking system, excavation + loading + electrical transport equipment, and mobile dedusting equipment.
