Abstract: The selfsinking open caisson construction technology is presented for a shafttype underground garage to address the parking problem in an urban core area. This kind of a garage can fully utilize the underground space resources. It adopts prefabricated structures and a selfsinking caisson. The structures are precast with a factory standardized method and are assembled at a construction site, which is highly qualified and can reduce the concreting intensity and construction period. During the sinking of the open caisson, there is a limited influence on surrounding buildings and pipes. It has been applied to some projects and good results have been achieved.
