Abstract: To achieve safe, fast, and highqualified construction of the tunnel in section D of the second phase of the UAE railway, a systematic study on the mechanization and rapid operation of complete sets of equipment is conducted. By investigating the existing data in China and abroad, the manmachine resources for the mechanized construction of the single operation surface of the tunnel are scientifically and reasonably equipped. By using the method based on the mechanical balance stability analysis of the excavation surface, it is found that the grade S3 surrounding rock excavation with fullsection method and grades S4 and S6 surrounding rocks excavation with bench method can ensure the stability of the excavation surface. Based on the rapid operation construction method adapted to surrounding rock at all grades, the numerical software calculation model is established. The maximum excavation footage of grades S3, S4, and S6 surrounding rocks is 4.5, 2, and 1.5 m, respectively. The mechanized construction technology of railway tunnel in UAE is summarized, and the process time and construction efficiency of mechanized construction and traditional construction are compared and analyzed.
