Abstract:

After a literature survey, the application of 3D seepageconsolidation coupling model in the calculation of the dewatering of deep foundation pits in complex geological conditions is studied on basis of 3D Biot consolidation theory and modified Camclay constitutive model. 3D FEM calculation is made for dewatering, with the dewatering of a foundation pit in Shanghai as an example. The 3D FEM analysis demonstrates that the 3D numerical simulation method considering the seepageconsolidation coupling can be applied to study the characteristics of the deformation of the foundation pits and surrounding soil induced by the dewatering. Therefore, the numerical simulation technique is useful in the calculation of the dewatering and soil deformation of foundation pits. The experience and data presented in the paper can be served as reference for the design, construction and research of similar works in the future.
