Abstract:

Based on the experience and lessons acquired in TehranShomal Freeway Project in Iran, the author analyses the differences between China's technical standards/specifications for highway works and Iran's corresponding ones, as well as the differences between China's engineering standards/specifications and the international ones. Furthermore, the author expatiates on the importance for Chinese contractors to study and accept internationallyadvanced engineering standards/ specifications and the engineering standards/specifications of the Owner's country. Finally, the author provides two recommends for Chinese contractors that want to enter the international market.
