Construction Technologies for EPB Shied Boring in Hardsoft Heterogeneous  Ground with High Viscidity: A Case Study on A Shallowcovered Shield  Tunnel on ChangshaZhuzhouXiangtan Intercity Railway

Abstract:

It is difficult for the earth pressure balance (EPB) shield tunneling in hardsoft heterogeneous ground with high viscidity. As a result, the construction technologies for EPB shield boring in hardsoft heterogeneous ground with high viscidity, such as improving the foaming system, improving the arrangement of cutting tools and improving the ground conditioning, are studied and then used. The results show that the ground surface settlement is brought under effective control and the safety of shield boring in hardsoft heterogeneous ground with high viscidity is guaranteed by using abovementioned technologies.
