Design of Dualmode Experimental Platform for Rock Breaking by TBM Cutters

Abstract:

Shield tunneling is highly affected by the strata conditions and cutterhead design. As a result, the test platform can be used to study the rockcutter interaction. The dualmode TBM cutter experimental platform with low cost and multiple functions is developed on the basis of the existing singlemode experimental platform. The working parameters of the dualmode experimental platform are decided on the basis of the existing research results and the design experience of singlemode experimental platform. The functions, such as cutter pressing, linear cutting and rotary cutting, as well as the parameters variation, are achieved by designing the mechanical structure and hydraulic system. The static analysis of the frame structure is studied by means of ANSYS software; the strength and the stiffness of the designed platform are verified. In addition, the control system is designed.
