Structure Design and Application of Asphalt Pavement to Hong KongZhuhaiMacao Bridge Immersed Tunnel

Abstract:

The assembled structure of precast tube section of immersed tunnel is easy to cause reflection cracks on the pavement, and the closed and humid construction environment conditions of subsea tunnel can easily lead to damp base surface, construction difficulties and wet pavement. Hence, based on the comprehensive analysis of the climate of pavement environment, traffic and other conditions, and as well the practical experience of similar projects, the paving scheme of 3 cm warm mix modified asphalt AC10 paving leveling layer + 6 cm warm mix modified asphalt SMA16 paving lower layer + 4 cm warm mix modified asphalt with flame retardant SMA13 paving upper layer is proposed, and detailed treatment schemes for tube joints, section joints and curb of immersed tunnel are made. The checking calculation results of tunnel pavement design and the test of implementation show that the pavement structure design scheme and detailed scheme of immersed tunnel are scientific, rational and feasible, which can provide reference for similar projects in the future.
