Application of Sunlight Reflection Lighting Technology in Highway Tunnel

Abstract:  To reduce the energy consumption of highway tunnel lighting, a novel sunlight reflection lighting technology is applied to highway tunnels. Based on the principle of sunlight reflection lighting technology and the realization of front lighting used to enhance the lighting at tunnel entrance, the site selection of engineering application tunnel and the installation position analysis of avoiding mountain occlusion are conduced. The installation area parameters meeting the lighting requirements are obtained from the sun altitude angle, mountain height, and the orientation of the tunnel entrance. Considering the influence of system installation parameters and the deflection angle of the objective lens on the illumination area, the relationship between installation parameters and the projection area in the tunnel is established, and the requirements of installation spacing between systems to avoid light occlusion are proposed. The engineering test results show that the recommended technology can improve the illumination level of the tunnel intensification section by more than 30% when applied to the tunnel entrance, which is specifically related to the scale of the system used, and the further into the tunnel, the more obvious the lighting enhancement effect is, and the brightness changes are consistent with the tunnel driving visual adaptability.
