Development and Application of a HighPrecision Assembly System for Integrated Prefabricated Box Culvert of LargeDiameter Shield Tunnels

Abstract:  An integrated intelligent box culvert assembly system with six degrees of freedom(DOF) is developed and applied to the bid 2 section of the Shanghai Airport connection line for highprecision assembly of integrated prefabricated box culverts at the bottom of a largediameter shield tunnel and to accurately adjust the assembly attitude of the box culvert according to tunnel linear. To achieve the above, the following steps are followed: First, the composition and design of the recommended system are introduced; second, the forward and reverse kinematics equations of the threerotatingDOF platform are established and solved; and third, the strength of the structural parts is calculated using ABAQUS finite element simulation. The results show that the structural strength, motion range, JP2and motion accuracy of the assembly system satisfy the practical engineering requirements. The application from the Shanghai Airport connection line reveals the high precision and intelligent assembly efficiency of the recommended system.
