Abstract:

Subgrade works and earth/rock works are the major contents of W8 contract section of Xi’an～Nanjing railway. The earth/rock works in the contract section are dominantly swelling soil works, including embankments/road channels in swelling soils, embankments in saturated swelling soils, embankments/road channels in water ponds and embankments in soft soils. The article places its emphasis on the description of the bottom treatment technology of embankments in water pond in swelling soils and embankments in soft soils, as well as the construction technology, side slope protection technology and foundation protection technology of embankments/road channels in swelling soils.
