Modal Analysis on Telescopic Booms of TR1000 Rock Drilling Jumbos

Abstract:

In the paper, the inherent frequencies and vibration modes of the telescopic booms of TR1000 rock drilling jumbos are calculated by means of the modal analysis function of the finite element analysis program of ANSYS9.0 and comparison is made between the FEM calculation results and the modal testing analysis results. The comparison indicates that the modal testing analysis results are in good agreement with the FEM calculation results. The analytical results are helpful for the designing of the telescopic booms.The study indicates that the FEM modal analysis is more convenient, rapid, costsaving and repeatable than the modal testing analysis and is especially powerful for large and complicated structures.
