Abstract:

803E TBM, manufactured by Wirth Company of Germany, was used in No.2 bid section of Dahuofang tunnel. During tunnel boring,the cutter head of the TBM vibrates seriously, which results in the extreme loosening of the connection bolts and the cracking of the connection parts, therefore the construction progress and the equipment performance are adversely impacted. In the paper, probe is made into the vibration of the cutterhead in terms of the dynamic stiffness of the structure of the main machine and the structure of the cutter head, and comparison is made to the structure of Robbins TBM, with the aim to provide some advices on the selection and design of TBMs in the future.
