Abstract:

n this paper, the author introduces RMR method and makes contrasting analysis and discussion between RMR method and GB50218-94 “Standard for Engineering Classification of Rock Masses”. The author concludes that RMR method can be used as a reference standard for primary classification of surrounding rock masses in the construction field and puts forward the items to which special attention should be paid in the field classification of surrounding rock masses by RMR method.
