Abstract:

Due to the shortcomings in the design and manufacturing of tunnel boring machines, malfunctions frequently occur to some critical parts of TBM during boring. The malfunctions are analyzed and the parts subject to malfunctions are rehabilitated, which in turn minimizes the construction cost, shortens the boring cycle and improves the machine availability. The rehabilitation practice demonstrates the importance and feasibility of the rehabilitation of imported equipment.
