Study on P64 Pier Underpinning Technology Used in  Taoyuan Airport Rapid Transit Project

Abstract: The doubletube shieldbored tunnel, CA450A bid rapid transit project at Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan, undercross P64 pier of Huanhe Rapid Elevated Road at Sanchong District. The construction technology used in the pier underpinning is introduced. The underpinning monitoring system, cushion cap changing of round steel pole, separation of the pillars and the foundations, transfer of the load and round steel pole and loading and turning are presented in detail. The paper can provide references for similar projects in the future.
