Abstract

Abstract:

In this paper, the causes for shield launching difficulty are analyzed. The causes for cutter head mud cake, ground settlement and grout burst lies on complex strata, bad ground conditioning effect and shallow cover. The countermeasures, including, adding additives, cutter head cleaning, and using cooling tower, are adopted. The paper can provide reference for similar projects in the future.
