Abstract:

A comprehensive technology system of shield has been formed in China after development of 60 years. The development stages of shield technology in China, early stage, innovation stage and rapid development stage, are reviewed. Many shield design and manufacturing companies and their advantages and achievements during rapid development stage of shield technology in China are introduced emphatically. The new innovations of shield technology in China are presented in terms of noncircular shield technology, new type of driving technology, cutterhead and cutter 〖JP2〗repairing technology and rapid mucking technology. Finally, the development directions, i.e. breaking through, performance improvement, digitized design, modular manufacturing, intellectualized control and networked management, are proposed.
