Abstract:
The foundation pit construction induced additional stress and displacement of adjacent metro structure would affect the operation and safety of the metro structure. In order to guarantee the safety of Guangzhou South Metro Station during the coutinuous construction of adjacent deep and large foundation pit, the countermeasures, i.e. phased and sectioned construction, ground consolidation, uplift pile, sprouted excavation, surcharging and back pressuring, disturbulance control and monitoring strengthening, are adopted. The displacement and deformation of the metro structure have been effectively controlled; and then the rationalities of the abovementioned countermeasures have been verified. The results can provide reference for similar projects in the future.
