GIS/BIM-Integrated Digital Management of Highway Tunnel and Its Application

Abstract: There is no storage rule for massive engineering data generated during the construction of highway tunnels, and the data management efficiency is low. As a result, the GIS and BIM data integration method is used to study the digital management of Laoying Highway Tunnel in Yunnan. Firstly, the massive highway tunnel engineering data is classified to develop a data dictionary; and uniform data storage standards are proposed. Secondly, the data is transformed from CAD to ArcGIS to express 2D graphics with topic maps in the geographic scene and generate engineering base maps and digitized objects. Meanwhile, the attributes and geometric information of 3D BIM model units are separated; and after splicing, rendering and scripts adding of geometric models in Unity software, a Unity3D file is released. Finally, the technical scheme of integrating engineering data with GIS and BIM is proposed; and the functions of GIS/BIM integrated linkage, real-time data entry and material query online are realized in the developed highway tunnel digital management system.
