Experimental Study of Rock Vibration Characteristics Induced by  Disc Cutter Rock Breaking

Abstract:

The tunnel boring machine (TBM) technology is a safe and efficient construction method in tunneling. During the excavation, the cutter system will generate vibration when interacting with the rocks. The vibration characteristics and rock breaking mechanism will affect the tunneling efficiency of the TBM and the service life of the cutters and cutterhead. The selfdeveloped TJTS500 linear cutting test platform is used to design a fine vibration test system to carry out linear cutting test of disc cutter. The different combinations of cutting depth, cutting speed and joint characteristics of the sample are considered, and the threeway force of the disc cutter and the vibration signal of the sample during rolling cutting are monitored. Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT) is performed on the collected vibration signals to analyze the rock breaking vibration characteristics of the disc cutter under different cutting parameters.
