Analysis of Key Factors Affecting Construction Cost of Wuhan Metro Project

Abstract: In order to effectively control and rationally determine the construction cost of metro projects, detail analysis and study are carried out on construction cost data of operation 339 km metro line in Wuhan by means of value engineering theory and Pareto′s principle. The key projects accounting for 80% of the total metro project investment are summarized, which include stations, sections, power supply, vehicle base and intelligentization. Furthermore, the key factors affecting the project investment are quantitatively analyzed, and 12 key factors, i.e.  retaining structure mode, geological conditions, burial depth, steel content, shield diameter, surrounding rock grade, 110 kV incoming cable length, power and lighting, vehicle base scale, property development, environmental assessment and automatic train operation system, affecting Wuhan Metro project are put forward.
