Application of 3D Geological Digital Modeling Technology in Analysis of  Geological Conditions along Urban Metro Lines

Abstract:

The geological conditions along urban Metro lines vary dramatically and it is difficult to perform site investigations on the geological conditions along urban Metro lines. In the paper, the analysis of the geological conditions along urban Metro lines by means of 3D geological digital modeling technology is discussed. The technology mentioned is used in the analysis of the geological conditions of the southern part of Phase II Project of Line 8 of Beijing Metro. The application shows that the rules of the geological conditions along Metro lines can be well analyzed by means of the technology described, especially when they cross multiple geomorphic units. The paper can provide reference for the design and construction of the southern part of Phase II Project of Line 8 of Beijing Metro and also can provide reference for the analysis of the geological conditions along other urban Metro lines in the future.
